Barbara's coming back
A lot of people have been asking after the Gazette's popular community reporter Barbara Fisher who has been absent from the newsroom for several months now.
Well, i am happy to report that Barbrara has now fully recovered from a recent operation and will be returning to work after the Easter holiday.
She popped into Gazette House on Friday and looked a picture of health and is relishing returning to work and re-establishing links with the many contacts she has across the borough.
It will certainly be good to have Barbara back in the newsroom and her popularity as a reporter on the Gazette can be gauged by the many calls and emails we have received expressing concern that they have not seen her byline in the paper recently.
I have to say it's still quiet on the news front - it looks like the sunny weather has encouraged people to take their Easter break early.
At present it's a real struggle to come up with strong splashes for our four editions although we have a possible contender for the Uxbridge paper - which emulated from an email I received last week about pupils fighting to save the outdoor activity centre used by schools across the borough.
However, a lot can happen in 24 hours and the newsdesk are working hard to see what else they can come up with although I have to admit it's a bit of a struggle at the moment.
